hin-chan is one of the most popular anime characters in Indonesia. Shin-chan is anime television series which directed by Mitsuru Hongo (1992-1996), Keiichi Hara (1996-2004), and Yuji Muto (2004-present). It produced by Shin-Ei Animation and licensed by ^NA Vitello Productions, Phuuz Production, and Funimation Entertainment.

The anime itself was extremely popular yet controversial. It is the first animation show  which have a "BO" rating, then "R-BO" rating (an Indonesian equivalent to the United States rating "PG").

             In Japanese version (seiyū) : Akiko Yajima as Shin-chan / Shinnosuke Nohara, Miki Narahashi as Misae Nohara, Keiji Fujiwara as Hiroshi Nohara, Satomi Koorogi as Himawari Nohara. In Indonesian version : Ony Syahrial as Shin-chan / Shinnosuke Nohara.

   This anime follows the adventures of the five-year-old Shinnosuke "Shin" Nohara and his parents, baby sister, dog, neighbours, and his friends. One episode is  “Shinchan go shopping”. In this episode, tell story when early morning, Shinchan awakened by his mother. But shinchan replied lazily as his own sleepy. Then his mother had scolded him and told him to quickly get up and take a bath. Shinchan wake up and scold his mother "captious". His mother was angry again. After bath, his mother asked him to help her to go shopping in minimarket because his father friends will come tonight. As usual, Shinchan always asking salary or compensation. His mother was grumbling and Shinchan immediately went to a minimarket.

Once there, he did not know what to buy. Because he was confused, she decided to go back home. At home, his mother gave him praise for come home early. Then Shinchan asked, what he must buy at the market. His mother was surprised and just remembered that she forgot to tell Shinchan yet, what must he buy. Again Shinchan mocking her again. His mother blaming Shinchan because he go away without asking first. After his mother told what must he buy, Shinchan go to the market again for shopping.

In this episode, showing examples of disrespectful behavior towards parents, because scold his mother. Not good if it was imitated by kids who watch this animation. Although the good value is Shinchan wants to help her mother to go to the market.

Not also in this episode, in other episode, there are good and bad values that contained in the Shin-chan anime.

That good values are:

1.    Shin-chan give examples of good attitude for children who watch this anime. For example, Shin-chan is very responsible when his parents ask him to keep his sister.

2.    He cares with his friends.

And the bad value that can impact child behavior. There are :

1.    Shin-chan is not obey with his parents.

2.    Shin-chan liked to act like an adult.

3.    Shin-chan like think slob.

Because there are some attitudes or habits that are not good to be imitated, Shin-chan is not good for children (who has innocent mind) to watch. If children watch this anime, they must be accompanied by their parents.
